Ordering Copies
Individual copies of Hawk & Whippoorwill are $5 each, plus shipping (starting at $2.65) and tax.
To place an order, EMAIL US so we can calculate the exact shipping costs and tax, and so we can confirm that we have shelf stock of the issue you'd like to purchase.
If we are presently out of stock, we'll have our trained production staff of hawks and whippoorwills put their ink-stained feather-fingers to work printing a new batch. When the copies are ready, we'll let you know so you can initiate your order.
We can receive Venmo payments via @penandanvil, or PayPal payments via bostonpoetryunion@gmail.com. If you'd prefer to pay by check, please make yours payable to "Boston Poetry Union", and mail to us via Pen & Anvil Press, 139 Mt. Vernon Street, Fitchburg MA 01420. You should be able to initiate a credit or debit card payment by using PayPal; alternately, we can arrange a one-time purchase link for you. Let us know if you'd like to activate this option.
If you are a contributor, you are entitled to purchase up to four additional copies of the issue your work appears in, at a 50% discount. If you did not exercise this option at the time of publication, but would like to do so now, let us know and we'll set things up for you. Please note that while domestic contributors receive two free copies of the issue their work appears in, we are unable at this time to cover the cost of shipping of contributor copies to international addresses.
Given the irregular publication schedule of Hawk & Whippoorwill in the past, we have elected not to offer off-the-shelf options for ongoing subscriptions. However, if you are a strong believer in our project, and would like to make a one-time donation of $20, we will make sure you receive copies of the next four issues of the journal, whenever they appear. PayPal, Venmo, or a check would all be perfect ways to get your donation into our hands. To make larger donations, please contact our staff so we can talk about a way to accommodate and acknowledge your support.
We are presently developing a Hawk & Whippoorwill imprint for book-length works relating to our theme of "humanity and nature", and would would welcome inquiries from individuals interested in underwriting such projects.
Please note that each of our back issues should be available in PDF format via each table of contents. We are pleased to think that this availability helps to make the work of our contributors more widely accessible.
