Thomasina’s Poem to Be Lost to the Sands of Time

I have tried this hour to express how absolutely tedious
everyone is being, chasing this poet around
and a new set chasing the chasers,

but I have been barred from mockery
by lacking a rhyming jibe.
Pooh.

Why do poems need rhymes at all?
I prophesy that one day they will explode
like everything else.
